They are quite common, especially among women of reproductive age, and can vary in size from small, seed-sized growths to large, grapefruit-sized tumors. While most fibroids are benign and do not cause any symptoms, they can lead to various issues like heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, and pressure on the bladder or rectum if they become larger or are located in certain areas of the uterus.
